Kitchen Moving Boxes

Gather all your packing materials in one place including moving boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, packing peanuts and markers.  If you bought a moving box kit decide on the type of boxes you will need to pack each set of items.

 

Packing Dishes, Glasses, Stemware, Collectibles, and other Glassware Figurines

 

Start by putting together your kitchen box kit.  Be sure to tape the bottom of the box securely.  Next put some medium bubble wrap or foam packign peanuts in the bottom of the box for shock absorption. 

 

  • Dish Moving Box Kits are specialty moving boxes made to protect your glassware.  Wrap each plate securely with either newsprint or foam sheet protectors and stack neatly in the bottom of the kitchen moving box.  If you are packing fine china you may want to add a layer of bubble wrap for extra protection.  Next wrap salad plates and bowls with packing paper and place securely in the moving box keeping items compact.
  • Wrap coffee cups, glassware with newsprint and if extra delicate use bubble wrap on the outer layer.  Place these on top of your plates.  If you have delicate stemware glasses you may consider packing inside another box and place in the top of the box.  Wrap stemware with both packing paper, and bubble wrap.  Fill in void areas with packing peanuts and a layer of bubble on top of the box for added protection. 
  • Fill voids with packing peanuts so that items will not shift during transit.  Tape securely and mark Fragile Kitchen on the box.  Keep an area designated as Fragile items so that these may be loaded safely on to the moving truck.  Fragile Labels and Room labels may be purchased for easy recognition.
  • Prepare more moving boxes and place packing peanuts on the bottom of the boxes with a layer of bubble wrap.  Next pack all your figurines, Porcelain sculptures, Glass Antiques, glass collectibles etc… with packing paper and bubble wrap.  Use a small to medium size boxes for smaller items to keep the weight to a minimum.  When box is full fill in voids with packing peanuts and place a layer of bubble on the top and close box securely with packing tape and tape dispenser.
